The Future of God (A Conversation between Deepak Chopra, M.D. and Kyra Phillips, CNN)

Deepak Chopra explains the anthropic principle, that the precision of the mathematical constants in the universe suggests that the universe has the purpose of evolving life to the point where it can become self-aware and understand itself.

There are about 20 to 30 constants in nature, which are very mathematically precise. If they were off by a decimal point there wouldn’t be a universe. We wouldn’t have this conversation and we wouldn’t exist. So we would have no knowing of existence. These are very precise. So this is what is called the anthropic principle. Many scientists believe that because the laws of nature are so precise and these mathematical entities are so precise, the anthropic principle that we were created from this invisible domain to understand ourselves and to understand our universe. Because the anthropic principle leads people into the direction of God, many scientists say no.

There are infinite universes. There’s a multi-verse and they have different laws of nature where there are no beings or if there are there are other beings. And you know we hit the jackpot and this is the lottery and so this was all an accident.

Now to even propose multi-verses we need consciousness and we don’t know where consciousness comes from. So I think as Max Planck said “You can’t get behind consciousness”. He said behind everything there is consciousness. That’s why I like the word infinite consciousness, cosmic consciousness, as a word that some people call God. Okay? That is where I think we are evolving. But then you say okay it’s there but do we have any connection to it?
I would say yes because if you go deep in the innermost being that we are, we find our source, the source of everything because there is only one source. All existence is awareness and being.
